Recently, the first gasification-based green methanol project in Jiangsu Province, the Longi Green Methanol and related cooperation projects, were signed and implemented in Ganyu District, Lianyungang City. The total investment of this project is 6 billion yuan, and it is planned to produce 300,000 tons of green methanol from biomass annually.

The signing and settlement of this project in Lianyungang is an important layout in the field of new energy industry to promote regional coordinated development under the background of the cooperation and joint construction between Wuxi and Lianyungang. Relying on the convenient port transportation conditions in Lianyungang and its rich endowment advantages of biomass energy and straw resources, the project will effectively promote the consumption of resources and convert them into a continuous supply of green energy, achieving the efficient utilization of resources and the green and low-carbon transformation of energy. At the same time, it will promote the construction of a green and low-carbon industrial system, form a green industrial cluster with the preparation of green methanol as the foundation and the coupled development of multiple industries, and drive the high-quality development of the regional economy.
