Datang Group¡äs Duolun Wind-Solar Hydrogen Production Project Set to Fully Commence Operations
2025-4-24
According to a report by Xilin Gol Daily on April 18, recently, with the successful pouring of the foundation for the last wind turbine unit, the main project of China Datang Group¡äs 150,000-kilowatt Duolun wind-solar hydrogen production integrated demonstration project has entered its final phase, and the project is about to fully start production.
It is understood that this project is the first key green hydrogen demonstration project of the Datang Group and also the first large-scale science and technology demonstration project in China integrating off-grid wind-solar hydrogen production with coal chemical industry. Invested and constructed by Datang Duolun Ruiyuan New Energy Co., Ltd., the project has a total investment of approximately 1.3 billion yuan and officially started construction in November 2023.
The project plans to build a new energy power plant with an installed capacity of 150,000 kilowatts and an electrolyzed water hydrogen production device with a rated hydrogen production capacity of 14,000 Nm³/h. It is equipped with 12 sets of 1,000 Nm³/h and 1 set of 2,000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment, with an annual hydrogen production capacity of up to 70.59 million Nm³.
According to previous public information, in November 2023, a consortium composed of North China Branch of China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation and an enterprise under China National Chemical Engineering Group won the EPC general contracting bid for the hydrogen production part of the project. In April 2024, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute won the bid for the electrolyzed water hydrogen production equipment of the project. In December 2024, the hydrogen production part of the project successfully started up for the first time and smoothly produced qualified hydrogen. On January 17, 2025, the project was officially connected to the grid for production.
