On June 10th, the environmental impact assessment of the methanol naphtha coupled olefin production project of Fuhai Tangshan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. was publicly announced for the first time.

Construction content: A new 1 million tons/year methanol naphtha coupled cracking unit and 17 sets of downstream chemical plants will be built, along with corresponding supporting utility systems and auxiliary facilities within the project boundary. The 17 newly built units include methanol naphtha coupled cracking unit, butadiene unit, MTBE/butene-1 unit (including selective hydrogenation and full hydrogenation units), pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation unit, aromatic hydrocarbon extraction unit, VCM unit, PVC unit, EVOH unit, EVA/LDPE unit, FDPE unit, alpha olefin unit, POE unit, PP unit, CHPPO unit, polyether polyol unit, 1,3-propanediol unit and PTT unit.

This project adopts the technology of methanol naphtha coupled cracking and light hydrocarbon cracking to build a 1 million tons/year methanol naphtha coupled cracking unit. Methanol naphtha coupled cracking is used to process methanol and naphtha, with an annual output of 350,000 tons of ethylene. The light hydrocarbon cracking is used to process ethane, propane, butane and some purchased butane produced by the coupled cracking unit, with an annual output of 650,000 tons of ethylene.

The total investment of the project is 34.56 billion yuan.

The project includes a 50,000 ton/year alpha olefin and 100,000 ton/year polyolefin elastomer (POE) plant.
