Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region officially announced that the "500,000-ton Green Methanol Project Using Green Hydrogen" by Goldwind Green Energy Chemical (Xing′an League) Co., Ltd. has been approved for modification in its filing. The original planned annual capacity of 500,000 tons of green methanol will be significantly increased to 850,000 tons, representing a 70% expansion. This marks the entry of China′s first large-scale integrated wind power-green methanol base into the official construction phase. 

The wind power-coupled 500,000-ton green methanol project by Goldwind Technology in Xing′an League has a planned total investment of 13.665 billion yuan. It will construct a 2 million-kilowatt wind power facility, along with biomass power generation units, biomass gasification devices, etc. Upon completion, it will produce 850,000 tons of green methanol annually. The project will be built in two phases: the first phase, with a scale of 250,000 tons/year, officially started in April 2024 and is expected to be put into operation in September this year. The project is designed to produce 92,200 tons of hydrogen annually, with 46,100 tons in the first phase, and the actual hydrogen production capacity of the first phase will reach 35,000 Nm³/h.
