ExxonMobil Huizhou Chemical Complex Officially Commenced Production

On July 15, ExxonMobil¡äs Huizhou ethylene project, one of the national major foreign-invested projects, was officially put into operation, and its products will effectively meet the demand of the domestic market.

"The successful commissioning of the Huizhou Chemical Complex marks another important milestone in our global commitment to maintaining manufacturing and technological leadership," said Jean-Marc Taton, Chairman of ExxonMobil China. "The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, and has set an excellent safety performance record, which is attributed to the cooperation and support from ExxonMobil, our partners, and governments at all levels in Guangdong Province."

Located in Huizhou Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park, the ExxonMobil Huizhou Chemical Complex project has a total investment of over US$10 billion and started construction in April 2020. The Phase I project put into operation this time includes a flexible-feed steam cracking unit with an annual ethylene output of 1.6 million tons, two high-performance linear low-density polyethylene units with a total annual output of 1.2 million tons, one of the world¡äs largest single low-density polyethylene units with an annual output of 500,000 tons, and two differentiated high-performance polypropylene units with a total annual output of 950,000 tons.
