On August 22nd, the transportation task of the first ethylene quench oil tower equipment for the CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals’ Huizhou Phase III ethylene project was successfully completed.

With its diameter at 13.5m, total length at 70.7m and total weight at 1621t. the ethylene rapid cooling oil tower is the first large-scale equipment to enter the plant. Have received the construction instructions, the project professionals scientifically deployed and implemented precise measures. As a cover culvert design scheme was adopted for oil pipe protection, reinforced concrete cover culverts were built at the intersection of the new road and the oil pipeline for protection. The project department took 34 days to overcome the impact of severe weather such as typhoons and completed the construction tasks ahead of schedule, ensuring the orderly progress of the transportation of the first large-scale equipment in the entire factory and laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction tasks.

The CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals’ Huizhou Phase III Ethylene Project is totally invested at about 52.1 billion yuan, with a core of 1.6 million tons/year ethylene cracking unit. It will develop 18 sets of chemical plants, public works and integrated facilities.
