Recently, the People′s Government of Jiangsu Province has officially approved the preparation work for the expansion of the Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base.

Upon completion of the expansion, the total area of the Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base will reach 62.14 square kilometers, including a main area of 53.50 square kilometers. The newly expanded Banqiao Area, located in Banqiao Industrial Park of Lianyungang Economic and Technological Development Zone, covers an area of 8.64 square kilometers.

As one of the seven national-level petrochemical industry bases designated in the national planning layout, the Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base has formed an industrial pattern featuring "integrated refining and chemical industry + high-end new materials + green energy". Currently, the base has gathered three leading enterprises, forming a comprehensive industrial chain ecosystem: Represented by the Sheng Hong integrated refining and chemical project, a dual-chain petrochemical industrial chain focusing on aromatics and olefins has been established; The high-end petrochemical industrial chain is led by the Lianyungang Petrochemical Light Hydrocarbon Comprehensive Utilization Project invested by Satellite Chemical; Sinochem Lianyungang Circular Economy Industrial Park has built an interdependent composite industrial chain by leveraging upstream and downstream products within the base.
