Civil Construction of Rongxin Chemical¡äs 800,000-ton Olefin Project Completed

Recently, Yankuang Energy Rongxin Chemical announced the successful completion of the civil construction phase of its 800,000-ton olefin project, marking a key milestone.
This crucial breakthrough signals the project¡¯s full-speed transition from the foundational construction phase to equipment installation and system commissioning, laying a solid groundwork for achieving the overall goal of "starting production by the end of 2026".
The completion of civil construction is not only a milestone but also a new starting point. At present, the construction of Rongxin Chemical¡äs 800,000-ton olefin project has fully entered the critical equipment installation stage. Equipment installation work has reached 12% completion, and detailed design progress stands at 90%, with an intelligent and digitalized plant taking shape at an accelerated pace.
With a total investment of 9.83 billion yuan, the 800,000-ton-per-year olefin project of Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. mainly involves the construction of 800,000-ton/year methanol-to-olefins (MTO) unit, a 400,000-ton/year polyethylene unit, a 400,000-ton/year polypropylene unit, a 15,000-ton/year 1-butene unit, as well as supporting public and auxiliary facilities.
Using methanol as the feedstock, the project adopts MTO technology to produce polymer-grade ethylene and polymer-grade propylene monomers, which are then polymerized to manufacture high-density polyethylene and high-performance polypropylene products. Meanwhile, it will co-produce by-products including 1-butene, isobutane, C5+ fractions and MTBE. Scheduled for completion and commissioning in 2026, the project is expected to achieve an annual industrial output value of 6.67 billion yuan and an annual industrial added value of 2.079 billion yuan.
