The signing of cooperation agreements promoted collaboration between relevant institutions and companies, while strengthening insights into the operations of multinational corporations and international/non-governmental organizations, dynamics of the global petrochemical market, and conditions of Brazil¡¯s bioethanol market.

China Session
As always, the annual World Petrochemical Conference pays close attention to changes in the Chinese market, and a China Session was held again this year. Vice President Fu Xiangsheng introduced the industry¡¯s performance, systematically summarized the achievements of China¡¯s petrochemical industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and provided an outlook for industry development in the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Dr. Thomas Kloster, President of BASF Global Petrochemicals, shared BASF¡¯s growth alongside the Chinese market, highlighting the fully operational integrated Verbund site in Zhanjiang and demonstrating the strong attractiveness of the Chinese market. Secretary-General Pang Guanglian of the Foreign Investment Commission focused on progress and vision for the industry¡¯s green transition and sustainable development.

A roundtable discussion on High-Quality Development was held concurrently. Enterprises including Yanchang Petroleum, Kingfa Science and Technology, S&P Global and Weida Petrochemical held in-depth discussions focusing on integrated oil-gas-coal development, plastic circular economy, bio-based materials and ¡°going global¡±, striking a strong chord with the audience. Leveraging this high-profile platform, CPCIF shared the story of China¡¯s petrochemical industry¡¯s green transition and high-quality development with international peers, enabling the world to better understand China.

CPCIF has deeply engaged with the World Petrochemical Conference for 11 consecutive years. This not only reflects China¡¯s petrochemical industry¡¯s commitment to international dialogue and global integration, but has also become an important bridge for telling China¡¯s story to the world.
